Royal National Park - Sydney (Australia)


In the South of Sydney, the Royal National Park présents some 
extraordinary cliffs and their wet forest. Created in 1879, it's one 
of the oldest park in the world ! We can cross the park in two days
with foot on a path of 26 km, but it is also possible to discover with
bicycle or car.

Enjoy historic landscapes and short walks to lookouts with spectacular
views over the park. Wattamolla, Garie and Burning Palms are some 
of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. 

Activities : Swimming, surfing, canoeing, beach fishing, bushwalking,
bush camping and nature study.

"de la Source" Park - Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium)





The Catholic University of Leuwen (UCL) entirely refitted 
his park to offer to the walkers a user-friendly green area 
and to develop the accesses of the Hergé Museum.


It is located in the center of the Town, between the Place
of the University and the Lauzelles' Wood, to which it is 
connected by a long way. It shelters many species of plants
and animals.


Next events :  A flea market is organised in the park the
 week-end of 21-22 May 2011 to celebrate the born of the
 Belgian draughtsman. You also can visit the Hergé museum 
every day, except Monday and some bank holidays.

Parco Sempione - Milan (Italy)


Sempione Park is Milan's 116 acre urban park located 
between Piazza Sempione and the Sforza Castle 
(Castello Sforzesco).  The visitors to Sempione Park
 can enjoy formal gardens, monuments, fountains and 
a great view of the Arch of Peace (Arco della Pace).

The park is nicely laid out in a landscape style with
winding paths, open grassy areas, tall trees and a 
picturesque bridge across a central pond. It is especially 
popular during spring and summertime when many 
events are held in the Sempione Park.

Next events : June to August, concerts, exhibitions and 
various cultural events in the Parco Sempione, marking
 the beginning of summer entertainment in Milan.

Tervueren Park - Brussels (Belgium)

This splendid park can accommodate many visitors the 
weekends of good weather. The Forest of Soignes extends 
behind the park, there are many ponds and statues. Large 
park, shelters the royal Museum of central Africa surrounded
by splendid French gardens. Further, the Saint-Hubert vault 
and the stables appear (1749-1750), both of the remainders
 of the castle of Charles of Lorraine (18th C.).


Next event : " You can buy my heart and my soul", an 
exposition of wood's elephants everywhere in the park, 
awesome !!

The "Champ de Mars" - Paris (France)

The Champ de Mars is a large public greenspace located in
the seventharrondissement, between the Eiffel Tower to 
the northwest and the École Militaire to the southeast.The
name also alludes to the fact that the lawns here were 
formerly used as drilling and marching grounds by the French 
military. Many birds may be seen in the area and it is one of
the rare places in Paris where the song of the tawny owl is 
heard at night.Traditionally, when the World's Fair is held in
Paris, it is located on the Champ de Mars, taking advantage 
of the large open space and fame of the site. From the 
ground, the Champ de Mars is a very pleasant place to walk, 
picnic, and simply lounge, and many French people take
advantage of this.


Next events : The 14th July is France's largest national 
holiday, this is led by the French President and includes a 
flypast by military aircraft. There is usually a free concert in
the evening on the Champs de Mars. This is followed by 
fireworks accompanied by music - the display starts after dark.

National Gardens - Athens (Greece)

The National Garden at Athens in Greece, open from dawn 
to sunset, is an oasis in the centre of the city. It has a total 
area of 160,000 square metre. Some five hundred different 
kinds of plants, bushes and trees from various locations 
around the world are grown here. 
The National Garden at Athens in Greece which was 
formerly the palace garden was laid out from 1838 - 1860.
It is a good place to go far a walk, sit on a bench, listen to
 the singing of the birds and relax. You wil also find here a
 lake with ducks, the Botanical Museum, a small traditional
 cafe, a children's library, and a playground. The National 
Gardens at Athens in Greece close shortly after sundown.


Next event : Every year, Greece surrenders to the arms of 
spring (May). Floral displays are set up in the heart of 
Athens and a series of celebrations take place in the National
 Garden, the Syndagma Square,  and many…



Botanical Garden - Brussels (Belgium)

The Botanical Garden contains some attractive gardens 
where you can sit down and rest for a while. The building 
is not used for plants now: it has become a French cultural
 centre, while its historical statues, and its remarkable 
collection of species of large trees, stands intact.. It stands 
on Rue Royale, near the Northern Quarter financial district 
in Brussels. Composite and coherent whole of three styles,
 Botany is arranged in terraces.

Iguazu Park - Misones (Argentina)



The semi-circularwaterfall at the heart of this site is some 
80 m high and 2,700 m in diameter and is situated on a basaltic 
line spanning the border between Argentina and Brazil. Made up
 of many cascades producing vast sprays of water, it is one of
 the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. The surrounding 
subtropical rain forest has over 2,000 species of vascular plants
 and is home to the typical wildlife of the region: tapirs, giant 
anteaters, howler monkeys, ocelots, jaguars and caymans.

Next event: the spectacle of the falls is an event in oneself.

Marìa Luisa Park - Seville (Spain)



María Luisa park is Seville's principal green area. It has a 
wide variety of vegetation species. The  park is a paradisical
 half mile of palms and orange trees, elms and Mediterranean
 pines, covered with flower beds and dotted with hidden 
bowers, ponds and pavilions. This place contains ducks, 
swans and peacocks. 


Next eventsSeville's April Fair (La Feria de Abril) is a huge
 annual event on the extensive list of festivals taking place 
in the city. The fair officially begins on Monday at midnight,
 normally 2 weeks after Semana Santa (Holy Week), and ends 
with a fireworks display the following Sunday, again, at 
midnight. 
In 2011 we believe the dates will be 3rd to 8th May (please 
confirm before travelling).
As you can imagine, 'the craic is mighty'. As well as flamenco,
 the other main themes of the party are horses and 
bullfighting in what is so clearly a typical Spanish affair.

Sanssouci Park - Potsdam (Germany)


Sanssouci Park is a large park surrounding Sanssouci 
Palace in PotsdamGermanyThe park of Without 
Souci covers a surface of almost 300 hectares. As of
 the input, the succession of gardens and palate 
allow a discovery which will surprise the visitor 
constantly.


Next eventsIn Potsdam the Babelsberg Palace, 
the New Chambers and the Orangery Palace in the
 Sanssouci Park will be opening. The Picture 
Gallery and Chinese House reopen to visitors too.
At the end of August, the Potsdamer Schlössernacht
 (Potsdam Palaces Night) takes place in Sanssouci 
Park. This event is always sold out way in advance. 



Royal Park - Brussels (Belgium)

















The royal park is the cradle of the Belgian independence. 
It is a great place around the Royal Palace. On a hot summer 
day, people were doing all kinds of things here. Some played 
football, some had a picnic with music, others were just 
refreshing at the big fountains... A wonderful relaxing atmosphere!


Next events : 


In summer, the royal Park is transformed into an enormous 
“open air DJ bar” where one plays any kind of music, the Electro
 to the Drum 'N Bass via House and Funk… 
The "Brussels Summer Festival" will appear once again, from 
Friday 12 August 2011 to Sunday 21 August 2011.

Retiro Park - Mardid (Spain)

The Retiro Park is the most popular park in Madrid. It can get crowded during weekends when many Madrilenian families go for a stroll in the park and street musicians, sidewalk painters, fortune tellers, jugglers and street performers animate the crowd.

Close to the northern entrance of the Parque del Retiro is a large artificial lake, the Estanque del Retiro. Here you can rent a rowing boat, especially popular during weekends.

Next Event : February 26, 2011. Madrid's Retiro Park will host the “Festival of Forgiveness” during World Youth Day 2011. Hundreds of priests will be located in the park for young people to confess throughout the day. The event is organized to help bring this sacrament to those attending the event. The priests will be available to listen to confessions in all major languages. All the churches in Madrid will also be open for anyone who wants to make a confession.

Central Park is a public park in the center of Manhattan 
in New York City, United States. Take the time to check 
out the boathouse and ball park in Central Park. There’s

Located close to the ultra modern European district, the Leopold 
Park is an oasis of green in the heart of Etterbeek. This place has 
become a small architecture museum in the open air.

bands are playing, children are running, ... The biggest events are
 the "Gazons".

Saint-James Park - London (United Kingdom)

Saint James Park is a park in Westminster, central London,
 and is the oldest of the Royal Parks of London. As someone
 that lives locally or visits the park regularly you’re 
probably aware of all the events and activities available 
at the parks, but there’s still plenty of hidden gems for 
you to discover.

Woluwe Park - Brussels (Belgium)

The park of Woluwé offers a huge diversity of 
landscapes and natural species : broad expanses of 
lawns, sometimes falling away into steep slopes and
 humid meadows; high foliages, the bushes and the 
copses have a varied vegetation and harbour many 
indigenous 
and migratory water bird species.

At hardly ten minutes from the bustling city centre, 
the Woluwe Park displays its softly rolling slopes and
 ponds. In winter, the slopes allow sledding and 
skiing, and the lakes are turned into skating rinks.
